Ask for pay or housing opportunities in phone screening?

I'm just asking if I should ask for pay during the phone screening? My biggest concern is an internship I applied to is only part time and it's outside my are. So essentially I'd be losing money doing

I'm just asking if I should ask for pay during the phone screening? My biggest concern is an internship I applied to is only part time and it's outside my are. So essentially I'd be losing money doing the internship if they didn't pay enough or help with housing. Should I do it? Is it "okay" to do that for the experience? Or is internship experience not really worth it if you don't come out cash positive? I am a US citizen and just moving to a different state so it's not a major issue. I'm just curious to know if the financial hit is worth the experience on a resume.
