Just got my first software engineering job. Had a tough traction the first 4 weeks, because I wasn't familiar with the codebase and specs were vague. Got put on a PIP without warning. Everyone convinced me they'd love to see me grow and to ignore all the comments about PIPs online. Got put on a 30-day PIP. Completed all the tickets and asked for 3 extra tickets every sprint. PIP got extended. Completed all the tickets and asked for more tickets. PIP got extended. Completed all the tickets and asked for more tickets. PIP got extended again. WTF They were simply trying to build a case against me but couldn't after I got put on it. Caused a lot of mental turmoil. Got fired for skipping a meeting. Oh well.
