I work for a fortune 500 in the financial industry. I survived two rounds of layoffs in the last year but our team has been hit hard. So hard to the point I have no clue what happens if I leave. For perspective, I am a senior swe, working mainly on backend processes and ETL processes. However our team has been cut so much, currently it is just another senior, myself, and 7 offshore developers who are next to useless. We are responsible for a data warehouse (that has massive data loads everyday) , a data mart which has multiple SSAS cubes building and processing everyday, and 3 other applications. We also have reports that we are responsible for that go directly to our data warehouse. Senior leaders just say use AI, but we are already stretched so thin I can’t imagine what happens if the other senior or myself leave. Is this workload going to be the new norm? Does anyone else have these expectations?
