Take equity now or wait?

Hello Swarm Intelligence, I work at a startup as a contractor in development. I have been there for almost a year. Now they have offered me equity. But I plan to ask for a raise in about a month (after one year). I am afraid to just accept the equity now because it might weaken my negotiating position. Along the lines of, “You already got something recently.” What do you think? Should i ask for time and wait until salary negociación is completed? Currently for me money is more important
