Disclaimer: this post is not about entry-level. Also, it is just my random thought It’s not over, but in AI products. All money and hiring of the decade are there. The 10 years ago princess treatment nostalgia about golden times for cs-folks is what is happening right now (just not for all cs-forks), but for those who have the right expertise to get hunted for working on AI projects. OpenAI is planning double its workforce up to 8k employees, other top-companies and american startups with budgets hunt, pay insane wages (sometimes triple compared to other devs), and fight over researches and those who work can help progress AI further in one way or another. “AI is a just bubble” aside, I believe this decade is the real golden age for those who work on these products. Everything in this field is growing with the insane speed rn, a lot of investments being blown away and the amount of products per year developed by FAANG and other AI companies is huge. I do think they need people all grades, not even just seniors, but bright students as assistants too. The demand is there too, I’ve seen our ai-sales statistics. It’s big and recruiting is focused there. **Nothing is permanent, eventually layoffs and getting back to earth will come for AI industry too, but it would take many years before so. Right now, whoever gets or already is into the bubble as an employee - wins in this market for sure.** The rest is just “struggle”, tight budgeting and layoffs right now (p.s. I’m part of the struggle, but still employed somehow, not sure if for long)
