Low-status role at major company vs. management role at local company

Hi all, I am a security engineer in the Chicago area. My company was recently acquired by “BigSecurityCompany”. You definitely know this security company. My existing role was pretty high-level but my new role following re-org is much less so. I had \~2 years of experience at the current company, and maybe 6months at the new company post-merger. Eventually I would like to pivot to management. Something like security manager/VP for a local bank or financial firm would be a decent next step. \*\*I’m wondering if it makes more sense to leverage my current BigSecurityCompany role to make the jump now? Or stick it out for another 6-12months for the resume bump?\*\*
