Under the following circumstances, should I pursue software testing or data analytics?

I have two options - whether to pursue a 1) software testing course which GUARANTEES me a placement (Guarantee is legit as one of my relatives has also pursued that course) 2)a data analytics course which does not guarantee anything. The catch is - I hate rote memorisation, and want to choose a path that involves as LESS memorisation as possible . Please help me choose, considering both the factors.
