I am a high school senior choosing between UCSD and UCLA for computer science. I also got into Purdue and UC Boulder among others that I eliminated due to cost, but I think staying in CA is probably better for me. I’m more of a doer than a thinker, meaning I’ve enjoyed what I’ve gotten to do in high school like hackathons, CTF completions, side projects and internships more than classroom work. I’m also a quiet person. I have friends and work well on teams, but I am not good with first impressions and networking. Which school would be better for me and give me opportunities for internships, research, and of course, employment eventually? Where are your companies recruiting from? Thanks in advance. Using parent’s Reddit as I do not have enough karma to post. Edit- got into Cal yesterday so I’m prob Berkeley bound. Thanks for the good advice- this is a great sub.
