Advice for finding my first job

I'm about to go into my last year of college for my Bachelor's degree in compsci and I've been looking for internships or entry level jobs for the summer and onwards for a while. Even applying to software developing places, IT places, etc the typical response is me getting ghosted. I customize the skills and such on my resume, if there's a phone number available I try and call to make a personal connection, every typical thing they tell you to do in high school. Any advice on how to increase my chances of landing a job or am I likely out of luck until I actually finish college?
