Throughout the entire interview process, I felt completely disrespected. The interviewer’s tone and attitude made me feel like an idiot who had to be doubted about everything. They spoke in a condescending manner. The final part of the interview asked me to evaluate my own performance, which clearly put the interviewer in a superior position. Before the interview, I was given a topic to prepare for, and I spent several days doing extensive research. However, only at the start of the interview was I told there would be an impromptu question. I understand that a BD role requires handling unexpected situations, but I also ask for respect for the time and effort others put in. There was not a single apology throughout the whole process—not even a perfunctory one. Before becoming anyone’s subordinate or a member of the company, I had already spent a great deal of time preparing and absorbing the other party’s negative emotions. More importantly, I cannot agree with the interviewer’s level of professionalism. The entire interview lacked any self-introduction, explanation of the role, or introduction of the company. It was clear they had no understanding that an interview is a two-way selection process, not a one-sided plea from the candidate for a job. When I asked questions, the answers were superficial. As a person responsible on one side, I find it hard to imagine such a shallow understanding of this position. In my previous work, I have interfaced with many senior executives and elite professionals from large companies. None of them were as arrogant and rude as this interviewer. The interviewer is the first representative to convey the company culture, and I truly cannot believe what kind of company culture Hungry Panda actually has.
