I'm nd and I really struggle with the acting part of interviews. That is: being animated, appearing excited, smiling, appearing extroverted, etc. Especially as a woman, that's expected of you most of the time in interviews. I looked up the questions on glassdoor, formulated STAR answers to all the questions as they were mostly behavioral and practiced like hell using PhotoBooth to record myself. Then I went back to look at my body language and my delivery and didn't stop practicing until I nailed my answers and my delivery. Also had my story toolbox ready with a myriad of stories to choose from (thanks Madeline Mann!) When it came to the interview, I was ready to perform and had my stories ready. I made sure to pause 2-3 seconds after each question because I've seen people say that makes you look more confident and then I went to work. For me, it was like performing a monologue and I nailed it with every answer. I hate interviews so I'm really happy I only had to go through this one interview process and I'm leaving my creepy co-worker and this shithole company behind! Also increased my salary by over 50% so I'm happy as a clam.
