Like title says, I got a job. ๐ฅน๐ Iโve been searching for over a year after being laid off, and itโs been one of the hardest phases of my life. My journey wasnโt straightforward. I did get a job during this time - but it was a really wrong fit, toxic environment, minimum pay, and a 2+ hour commute each way. I accepted it just to keep a roof over my head and food on the table. While working there, I kept job searching for roles aligned with my career and cried myself to sleep more nights than I can count. I was getting interviews. I reached final rounds, some with 5-6 interview steps, assignments, and tests, only to be rejected as โsecond best,โ told the company changed direction, or ghosted completely. Job searching is not easy at all. Balancing full-time work with 4 hour total commute, applications, and interviews was exhausting. I used up all my vacation and sick days just to attend interviews. At a glance: - Laid off 1 year ago - 60+ screening calls - 20 second rounds - 8 third/final rounds - 1 wrong-fit offer (accepted to survive) - Continued searching - 18 screening rounds - 3 final rounds - 1 offer - my dream job ๐ This role is a perfect match, great pay, the next step in my career. And the most surprising part? Only 2 interview rounds including screening. ๐ณ No assignments. No technical tests. No long process. They simply knew I could do the job and they really liked me. ๐ฅน It happened so fast, smoothly, and with ease and it made me truly believe that when itโs the right time and the right fit, things align. To anyone still searching: please donโt give up. Youโre closer than you think. When the job is right for you, there is no wrong answer in interview, and it will happen so smooth when it's your right time. Thank you to this group for helping me through this journey. Sending prayers and strength to every job seeker here ๐ค๐
