Yesterday I had an interview at a restaurant and it felt like a fever dream. I had been emailing with the manager for a couple days and she wanted me to come in at 3:30 on a Sunday which I thought was sort of odd because I have never done an interview on the weekend but I made it work. I showed up about 5 minutes early. There was 2 managers working and I talked to the one right when I walked in. He brought me over to a booth and said either him or the other manager will come over in a minute to do the interview. I sat there for 35 minutes and no one came back over. I was getting rather frustrated because that is a long time to wait for an interview that she set up. Eventually she did come over asked me about my last job then about my availability. I said that I had pretty open availability because I do school online so I don’t need to go to class for it. I did say that I needed Sundays off because I want a guaranteed day off every week to do homework which is also the day all my homework is typically due. After I said I need Sundays off the interview shut her notebook got up said this isn’t going to work and walked away. I am so frustrated with the interview/ hiring process I have been looking for a new job for months. And that interview really just broke my spirit.
