Amidst a lot of personal life transitions (marriage, city transfers, homesickness, parents falling ill), I recently started feeling that I'm about to be PIP'ed/laid off soon from my infamous FAANG company. So, I have desperately started to apply for jobs in bulk from LinkedIn, without paying much attention to the companies. I have not started any preparation or revision, as I am feeling burnt out and as if my brain doesn't have the capacity for more stress at this point, given that I'm adjusting a lot physically and emotionally since the past few months. Unexpectedly, I got a call back from a company and my first interview is tomorrow. I researched about the location of the office and other details such as JD after the HR hung up and I realised that I'm 1) not prepared for that senior of a position mentally and knowledge + confidence wise and 2) the location of the office is not suitable for me at this point in my life. The first technical interview is tomorrow with the Director of the Department who has 3x my experience. I'm afraid that I'm not only going to sound unprepared and dumb, but also represent my current abilities badly and leave him questioning why and how I'm even employed at my current company. Any tips to navigate the interview without leaving a bad impression? Location: India TLDR : Couldn't say no to an HR screening for the interview loop, terribly underprepared for the sudden interview with the Director of the department. Also kind of uninterested in the job role as of now.
