Lied about being employed

I was recently let go (3 weeks ago) and out of panic, I told the hiring manager in the first and final interview that I am employed. The first interview was last week and final interview was a few day

I was recently let go (3 weeks ago) and out of panic, I told the hiring manager in the first and final interview that I am employed. The first interview was last week and final interview was a few days ago. I believe I may get an offer. How should I play this? I saw on other post to play dumb or say I’ve been “furloughed” and didn’t know if that counted as being unemployed. When I do the background check, should I put the date I’ve had my last day? My last day was obviously before my first interview. Should I tell the hiring company HR about this “confusion” I had? Please let me know any insights and thank you
