I'm 55 and have been out of work since Oct 2025. I've been struggling to find work in the IT field. I'm on medication that has the proven side effect of memory loss and I can't remember anything. Being out of work this long I admit I am getting a bit rusty and can't answer all the questions asked during my live and AI mock interviews. I've had about 7 or 8 live (camera) interviews. Although I possess the necessary knowledge and skills, I can't recall specific user examples or instances where I used those skills when asked during an interview, and that's really hindering me. Examples from Gemini are: Can you tell me about a time when you had to help a less experienced team member troubleshoot a complex issue, or a time when you contributed to your team's knowledge base to make everyone's job a little easier? or In a busy Service Desk environment, we rely on our Level 2 representatives to not just fix individual issues, but to help us identify larger system problems. Can you tell me about a time when you noticed a trend in incoming tickets or user complaints, and how you handled that emerging issue yeah, something like that. I just get completely mixed up and can't answer, even though I handled similar situations at my last position for years. ugh, I have an interview in a few hours.. I'm surely going to blow it!
