I’m a 2025 graduate and I have an upcoming interview at my dream company. The issue is, I have a 1-year gap after graduation. During that time, I had a medical condition (serious but now resolved) and I didn’t join any company. I also helped my dad with his business accounts during this period, but I don’t have formal work experience. I’m confident in my technical skills, but I’ve already failed a few HR rounds before, and I feel like I mess up when introducing myself or explaining my situation. I don’t really want to bring up the medical issue because I feel like it might create a negative impression. How should I introduce myself and explain this gap in a professional and positive way without hurting my chances?
