This happened a few years ago but it still stays in my mind. I was attending a video call for a financial company for a developer role. It was with the ceo and cto. First thing was the ceo had his camera turned off but I and the cto had it on - weird. The cto kept asking me long winded ridiculous technical questions that it took him about 3 minutes to articulate the words for each question and as you can imagine a question that is taking that long to say out loud makes you forget the earlier parts. Every time I tried to answer the question the cto would talk over me. This onslaught went on for over an hour (the interview was only supposed to last 45 mins). I was getting so upset I said that I wanted to end the interview. Now you would have thought that the ceo would have said to himself “oh shit we’ve done something wrong - we need to steer this into a more positive direction” but no he just smugly asked “so do you have any questions for us?” I was so frustrated I said “no not really” and ended the call. It’s not that I like to make the habit of ending a call like that. But with the way it was going and their lack of interest in turning things around you either walk away feeling dumb or you make a statement that that kind of behaviour isn’t acceptable EDIT: I forgot to mention that since this took place at the end of a Friday I couldn’t get hold of the recruiter to tell him what happened. But of course on the Monday the company got to him first and then I had to deal with the wrath of the recruiter “how could you be so rude to them?” “This damages my reputation” blah blah blah
