Interview Experience
I recently went through a series of interviews for a Senior Engineer position. I had applied online through the company’s website, and within a few days, I was contacted by their HR department to schedule an onsite interview. The onsite consisted of five 30-minute interviews with various leaders, including the VP of Engineering, Director of Projects, Department Manager, and others. Overall, I felt the interviews went really well—better than I had expected, especially considering I haven’t interviewed in over three years and felt a bit out of practice. My final interview was with the person who would be my direct supervisor. At the end of our conversation, he asked, “If we offer you the position, would you accept it?” I said yes—I really liked the company and the culture. He mentioned that they would get back to me by the end of the week (the interview was on a Monday). I sent a thank-you email (one email to all) to everyone I spoke with, but I didnt received any replies, I was not expecting any. Now I’m unsure of what to do. Should I send a follow-up email? Call the hiring manager directly (he gave me his business card)? Or should I simply wait? UPDATE: sent an email to HR asking for update. HR replied that they will follow up with hiring manager and get back to me asap. A few hours later HR called me and made a verbal offer! Waiting for the official offer!! So relieved!
