Hoping for the office manager position!!
Interview Experience
Hello everyone! I posted here about a few weeks ago, I’m continuing in my job hunt to escape the toxic and financially failing healthcare environment I am in. I now have a secured strategy, I still make out decently, but one option is better than the other. *Context for later into the job explanations, I am currently salaried. Job 1: It is at a fast food restaurant as a shift manager. It is $12 less an hour than my current role to start (trust me I know 😭😭😭 but my fiancé and I have traversed through worse with myself making even less than what Job 1 is currently offering, so it’s okay) and I receive benefits (M, D, V), PTO, retirement w/ company match - something I’ve never gotten from any job I’ve held currently or prior other than PTO. I have worked in fast food plenty of times so I am no stranger to this, but this is not glamorous by any means, but better than my current situation. I have completed my onboarding paperwork and am asking for a start of May 1st or May 2nd (I’ll explain why below). Job 2: It is at a dentist office as an Operations Lead Manager where I would be making $5 less an hour than my current role to start. It is literally what I am already doing at my current job. I would also receive the same benefits as listed in Job 1. My situation with job 2 is that I had an insanely strong interview that went amazingly well, I have no notes or anything that I would change about it in the slightest. I am waiting for them to reach back out by the end of this week (Thursday/Friday) about what the next steps for myself will be. I am trying to line it up where if I ask Job 1 for a start date of May 1st or May 2nd, I would need to give notice to my current employer by this upcoming Thursday, April 16th or Friday, April 17th. This will give me time to receive my answer back from Job 2, and allow me to complete my next move, which would be putting in my 2 weeks and starting Job 1, OR telling Job 1 I’m no longer interested in the position, and pursuing Job 2 which is my hopeful main end goal. Just wanted to share my current situation but hope that I can continue doing what I’m familiar with, just in a different setting within healthcare.
