KPIT Interview Experience 2025 (On-Campus) | Associate Engineer
Question Details
Hi everyone, I'm Shriyansh Kesharwani, currently in my 7th semester. I would like to share my placement experience with KPIT Technologies , which visited our college on November 11, 2025, for the role of Associate Engineer. The entire hiring process was planned to be completed in two days. To participate, we were required to register on the Superset platform, and the process began with a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) conducted on our college campus. Eligibility Criteria Minimum 70% and above (or equivalent CGPA) in 10th, 12th, Diploma, and Graduation. No current backlogs. Eligible Branches CSE/IT/CSE (AIML)/CSE (AIDS)/CSE (DS)/EE/EX/EC Recruitment Process 1. Online Assessment The first stage was an online assessment to evaluate technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and aptitude for the role. The assessment was conducted on the AON platform and consisted of the following rounds: Technical Assessment (30 minutes) 20 MCQs based on branch-specific subjects. As my branch is AIML , I received MCQs related to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning . Written English Test (25 minutes) Write a short essay (198–242 words) on a given topic. My topic: "People should maintain hygiene and cleanliness during pandemics."
Coding Round (40 minutes) Solve 2 coding problems of easy to moderate difficulty . Only Java and Python were supported for the assessment. Gamified Aptitude (3 games, 9 minutes each) The games tested deductive reasoning, graph and chart-based problem-solving, and motion challenges. Results: After a wait of two hours, the results were announced. Out of 700–800 students , 145 students were selected for the
next round. 2. AI-Based Interview Round This unique interview was conducted on the same day. It used AI technology to assess candidates without a person present on the other side. Process: 13 questions were displayed on the screen one by one. Candidates had 20 seconds to frame their response and 2 minutes to record it. The interview lasted approximately 45 minutes . Questions Asked: Introduce yourself and mention your area of expertise. Explain BFS and DFS graph traversal algorithms . What do you know about stack and queue ? Give an example in C++. What is an operating system , and what are its main functions? Describe your project : Role, responsibilities, and contributions. Key learnings from the project. Define polymorphism and its types in C++. Explain inheritance and its types in C++. Solve a coding problem: Find the first index of the smallest element in an array. Describe your approach to solving the above coding problem. What is overfitting , and how can it be prevented? Share your best travel experience . How do you approach teamwork vs. working independently? What method do you follow during your meeting commitments ?
Outcome The results were announced the following day, and I was thrilled to be selected ! Tips for the KPIT Hiring Process Prepare Thoroughly: Have a strong grasp of branch-specific subjects. Focus on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) , Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) , and Operating Systems (OS) . Coding Practice: Practice coding problems on platforms like LeetCode , HackerRank , or GeeksforGeeks . Communicate Clearly: Explain your approach confidently during interviews. Structure your answers well, especially in behavioral questions. Be Dynamic: The process requires adaptability, so stay focused and remain calm throughout the assessments. Conclusion My experience with KPIT Technologies was both challenging and rewarding. The AI-based interview was a unique experience, and I’m excited to start my journey as an Associate Engineer . Best wishes to all future aspirants—prepare well, stay confident, and give your best!

Kpit Interview Process Overview
The Kpit interview process typically includes a recruiter screen, one to two technical phone screens, and a 4-6 round on-site or virtual on-site loop. Each round serves a distinct calibration purpose: coding rounds measure correctness, code quality, and complexity reasoning; system design rounds measure architectural judgment at the appropriate level; behavioral rounds measure ownership, leadership scope, and collaboration. Reports tagged on LeakCode from 2024-2026 show Kpit runs a calibrated process consistent with industry norms for companies of its tier.
Difficulty calibration: Kpit coding rounds typically run medium difficulty with follow-up depth as the senior discriminator. System design rounds expect production-grade trade-off articulation at L4+ levels. Behavioral rounds expect quantified outcomes ("reduced p99 latency from 800ms to 120ms") rather than vague impact claims. The candidates who advance consistently demonstrate clear thinking out loud rather than perfect final answers.
How To Use Kpit Question Reports
Real candidate-reported interview questions are a calibration tool, not a memorization target. Kpit updates its question pool every 2-4 months; memorizing exact problems risks misleading you when the interviewer uses a variant. The high-leverage approach: identify the patterns that appear repeatedly in Kpit reports, practice those patterns on similar (not identical) problems, and use the reports to understand the interviewer's typical follow-up depth.
Filter the questions above by round type, difficulty, and recency. Focus first on reports from the past 6-12 months; older reports may reference questions that have since rotated out of Kpit's pool. Reports tagged with quantified difficulty and explicit round type are higher-signal than reports without those tags. The metadata filters help you build a focused study plan in 1-2 hours rather than 8-10 hours of unstructured browsing.
Common Kpit Interview Mistakes
Reports tagged "no hire" at Kpit consistently surface a few patterns: jumping into code without clarifying requirements, coding silently for extended periods, missing edge cases (empty input, single element, large input, overflow), producing working code the candidate cannot refactor when probed, and behavioral stories that use "we" instead of "I" diluting individual signal. Strong candidates explicitly avoid these patterns by following a consistent round template.
The single most predictive failure mode in recent reports: not asking clarifying questions. Interviewers are explicitly trained to weight this dimension. Strong candidates ask 3-5 clarifying questions even on problems that look obvious; weak candidates dive into implementation immediately. Strong candidates also verbalize their approach before writing code; weak candidates code in silence and lose the communication dimension of the round's calibration.
