I finally got an offer and renewed hope
Interview Experience
So, last year I was burned out and I thought that maybe changing my job and the company could be the answer. I was lucky and I changed jobs with a better pay and an amazing team but I was depressed and already burnt out so things got worse for my mental health and I decided to leave that job to take care of myself. At first I felt guilty for leaving a job with good pay and a great team I was filled with uncertainty about the future but following my therapist advice I took one day at a time and I got better. I know I’m lucky that I had enough savings to take that break and a few months after I was fully recovered, motivated and ready to go back to the workforce but the market was different and for the worse. I applied to a few jobs, some were auto reject, others they already selected the candidates and for others I got interviews but no offers even with referrals and a good resume. Naturally I was discouraged and afraid that quitting my previous job perhaps was not the best decision. About a month ago I decided to knock on the door of the company that I left as I saw an opening that seemed like a match for me. To my surprise they were glad about the possibility of me coming back and I started the interview process. It was not easy in fact it was hard but I earned that job and I am happy that I got an offer! I’m thrilled and ready work and bonus the pay is better than before. So this is my message to everyone is to keep up, to be patient and to keep trying. Job hunt is brutal now but don’t give up! Some advice: 1. Always keep doors open as you never know when you will knock them again, don’t underestimate the power of your network. 2. Prioritize your mental health, take care of yourself and advocate for yourself 3. It’s hard out there, be kind with others 4. There are good companies, great recruiters and people who care about you and want them to join the team, you got this!
