Pretty sure I just got scammed
Interview Experience
Hey everyone, I had an interview today with a company called CyberBacker (I'm not worried about naming them, I think they are a scam company). This "interview" was not with a hiring manager or HR person, it was a "join at your will during a certain time frame" interview, where once I joined I waited for about 20 minutes to actually speak to someone, who checked that I had a working headset and renamed myself to my name and my email address. Then, they put us into a breakout room and said someone would join to ask two questions that could have been done over email. They were as follows: 1.What is your internet speed? 2.What are your PC specs? Now you're probably thinking what I was thinking. What the hell kind of operation are they doing here? This was for a remote bookkeeping position. I joined the call at 5pm (they said to join between 4p-6p) and waited in a breakout room until 6:10pm, at which point I said to myself "What am I even doing here? I'm in a full suit waiting to talk to someone about my internet speed and PC specs" so I said what the hell and ended the call at 6:10pm, like I'm not wasting any more time in here, this is probably a scam job anyway. Anyways, just wanted to tell this story here because I thought you all would enjoy it. What do you all think, probably a scam right? EDIT - I just want to be clear, they took no information from me, I didn't enter any financial information for this job, or my address or anything. Some people are assuming that I gave away credit card info and I didn't do that, I would never do that for a job.
