Self doubt despite successful interview?
Interview Experience
I had an interview today for a company I’ve been trying to get into for a few years. This is the first interview I’ve gotten for this company after sending a handful of emails throughout the last 3-4 years. That being said, it went extremely well. I had a “pre-interview” phone call with the hiring manager on Tuesday which last 15 minutes. He seemed to be happy and impressed with my answers to his basic interview questions and we ended up scheduling an in person interview for today. I was told it would be quick, no more than 30 minutes and the last 10 would be just walking the building, giving me a tour. We talked the whole time. It felt relaxed, but both interviewers seemed to really like my responses and were even paying me compliments and laughing with me. This is my first “corporate” job interview. I’ve only worked retail but am a pretty knowledgeable guy and I felt really confident walking out of the room. I won’t know until next week and the wait is already killing me. I really want to leave my current retail job. It causes me a lot of anxiety and stress overall (underpaid, poor management, huge retail corporation). I know I did a great job at the interview but I’m still doubting myself. Can’t help but wonder how the other interviews will go and if I will still have left a mark once their interviews are over. How do I make the next week easier for myself? EDIT: I got the job! Just waiting to receive my official employment offer. Thanks everyone!
