Zero Experience With Specific Interview Criteria - Be Honest or Wing it?

Interview Experience
I've made it to a second stage interview for an upper management position. The job description for this position centers mostly around staffing and operational items, to which I'm pretty well qualified to deliver on. The first stage of interviews was mostly operational and strategic based, and I had no issues with that. The second stage is requiring submission of more operational reports along with a budget that I've maintained. I've never had experience maintaining a budget - my current longtime employer has an entire division responsible for finance/budgeting, so I've never even gotten close to it. What's the best path forward, here? Be honest in the report but cite examples of analytical thinking, usage of resources, making recommendations to optimize, etc, along with a willingness to learn OR pull something from my college course where I had to make a mock budget and try and shoehorn current job data to that template?
