May 2025 CS Grad here. After almost 200 applications, finally got an entry level SWE job. Here’s how my interview process went. -90k base -10% yearly bonus -3000 shares -MCOL After a great first round with a director of engineering, I followed up with him with a demo of a project built using their stack. I feel like the combination of the convo plus my effort got me moved to round 2. Round 2 was technical, not much finesse I did there, just glad I did my leetcode. Then came round 3 with the CTO. Here’s where I became a little unhinged. Prepared by going through LinkedIn posts and regurgitating points he made back to him so I looked like the perfect culture fit and someone who understood the mission. Round 4 was an interview with a senior engineer, likely the engineer I will be working under. Studied by going over OOP principles, DSA, networking protocols-which was a bit overkill as it was mostly a vibe check and making sure you were somewhat technically proficient and coachable. Received offer this week. Overall, I’m glad the search is over. To all CS grads looking for jobs, literally apply to everything. It is 100% a numbers game. I almost guarantee if you were a were a good student, had high impact internships, and a neat portfolio, YOU WILL find a job. Good luck.
