I have some Microsoft interviews in the pipeline right now, but have heard anecdotally that the culture at Microsoft has gotten worse which has me a bit concerned. For a long while, Microsoft was known to be a place where you can have good WLB and a decent workplace culture, but for lower pay than other FAANG/FAANG-adjacent companies. I’ve been hearing lately that the good WLB and culture is fading and that they’re expecting more work out of their employees while keeping the just-okay market pay. I’m curious if any Microsoft SWEs have any input into this? How is the culture on your team? How does the culture feel overall? If you’ve been there for a bit, have you noticed a shift in the past couple of years?
