Recently I had the worst interview experience of my life. I made a post about it already. https://www.reddit.com/r/interviews/s/YSdLSFE5KG But today I had a great screening with a woman who reached out directly to me on LinkedIn. It was a phone call and so I could read my notes, but I think I did well because I followed someone else’s advice on another post on this sub: “every job I ever did get I went in with the just be my outgoing self attitude” rather than total adherence to a professional script. Don’t get me wrong, I had the script handy. But I also bounced off her outgoing energy, and got a good vibe going. She kept saying things like “perfect! Oh that’s great,” the stuff you want to hear. I focused on being friendly, and the only question I had for her was what does she do there and what has her experience been like? She dug that. If I had to give myself notes I’d say I should have asked more questions, the screening was as short as the disaster one. But either way, it felt good. If I can recover from the worst interview of my life and have this one, there is a path. There is hope. Keep going.
