I'm 28, M, and I have a job right now that doesn't give me too many hours and pays me less than $15 an hour. Summer would've been my busy season, as it was the past 2 years, but due to unforseen circumstances I actually lost hours. So I have been looking for a 2nd job. Been putting applications in, updated my resume so it looks nice, and I actually made 2 resumes, one with all my media work, and one with all my normal jobs ive had. Still nothing. Unfortionately, I live with my folks, and they have their idea as to why I am not getting another job dispite applying. they believe its because of my mohawk haircut. "The way you look scares people," "you'll never earn a living looking like that," and "it's time to grow up and be an adult." I'd get it if I actually got interviews, but so far I have only had one interview. my previous jobs didnt care at all about my hair, my current job doesn't care either. I straighten my hair so it looks neat, and I push it back so its out of my face. I've never been happy with my hair in the past until I got the Mohawk cut. it just suits me I think, and by this point having hair on the sides of my head causes me to sweat like a pig. So I keep the sides shaved off so my scalp is always cool and I dont sweat so bad. So, is my hair keeping me from getting another job?
