Deutsche Bank visited VIT Pune for campus placements for the 2024 batch (final year) students in July 2023. Eligible branches included Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS), and Electronics and Telecommunication (ENTC). The online test was conducted on Hacker Earth and lasted for 1 hour and 30 minutes, consisting of three coding questions. After 2-3 days, the shortlist for the online test was announced, with about 42 students shortlisted. The interview process took place on the college campus in a single day, starting with a pre-placement talk. There were four rounds in total:

Technical Round 1 Technical Round 2 Professional Fitment Round HR Round Technical Round 1 (40-45 min) In what domain you are good at? Can you code in Java, Python and in C++? What is your understanding of data structures? How do you use them in specific cases? Different ways to store data in linear fashion? What is heap? How is runtime memory accessed? How to join two linked lists? What is the use of a doubly linked list? Give any real-life examples. Rate yourself in RDBMS. Table Number 1: Student(id, name, city) Table Number 2: Location(city, state) Write query to find count of number of students per state. What is the difference between Views and Tables? How views provide abstraction? Project Questions: (Path finder in Maze) a) How did you implement randomized prims algorithm? b) How to find the shortest distance between two points? c) If you are at a location with around 90 people around you, how do you determine which people belong to your area? What is inheritance? What is interface? What is the final class? Difference between overwriting and overriding. Rate yourself in Operating Systems. What is Bash? What is Kernal? Difference between low level and high-level language? Questions about extracurricular activities mentioned, such as event management and organization. Do you have any questions for me? Technical Round 2 (35-40 min) Tell me about yourself. Rate yourself in DBMS. Rate yourself in DSA. Design database for your college library, assuming tables on your own.

Follow up questions: a) If you want to decrease the number of books that is allocated to student and increment the number of books that is returned by student, how would you implement it? b) If you want to find odd rows in Student table, how will you do it? Write query for it. c) If there is no student_id column, then how would you do it? Project Questions: CLI Based Chat Tool a) Explain the project. b) What is socket? c) What are use cases of socket other than chatting? Project Questions: Path finder in Maze a) Explain the project. b) What is randomized prims algorithm? c) Write pseudo code for Dijkstra Shortest Path Algo. d) Tell the real time use cases of shortest path. e) How it can be used in robotics field? next round. Professional Fitment Round (1Hr) Tell me about yourself. How was the day? What was your experience with the previous rounds? Which languages have you learned? Design a calculator that has functionality like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. But the only condition is to write the code in OOP concepts. Write code on paper.

Follow up question: a) How will you add percentage function, mod function in code? Tell me about your background? What do your parents do? How integration, derivative, probability from maths is useful for you? Did you not think it was wastage of learning? If YES, then WHY and if NO, then WHY? What was your CET score? How did you get into VIT? Why did you choose engineering as your carrier? There are lots of other professions like Artists, CA, etc. Why engineering? How education is important to you? Any higher education plans. What things are you into apart from academics? If you have conflict within your project group, how will you resolve it? What if one person is doing less work and getting all the credits due to his/her communications skills? How do you view this situation? What if it happened in industry with you? HR Round (20-25 min) How are you doing today? What is the most exciting thing in today’s process? Tell me about yourself, including your background and parents. What company does?
