Criteria: 6.5 CGPA, 70% in 10th and 12th The complete process i.e, Phase 1 and Phase 2 was audio and video proctored. Phase 1: The entire phase 1 was conducted on Talview Platform, the window was open for 12 hours (7 P.M to 7 A.M). Phase 1 was divided into 3 rounds which were:- Each of the rounds was an elimination round, which means you had to clear a cut-off which was not disclosed. Aptitude Test (40 minutes): Input/

Output Questions Flowchart based Questions DBMS Data Interpretation Quantitative Aptitude: Percentages, Profit and Loss, Coding and Decoding, Time and Work Calendar, Logical Reasoning Level - Medium Verbal Ability Level - Easy Problem Solving Deep Dive (30 minutes): MCQ's based on a short case study Level - Easy (Just give logical approach) Video Interview: Computer-based interview. Had 10 seconds to read and frame an answer. Time Limit for each question was 3 minutes. A unique thing which you had done within 18 months. What are Checked and Unchecked exceptions? Explain with an example. And some more behavioural type of questions. After around 7-8 days, 31 students were shortlisted for Phase 2 from around 300 students. Phase 2: Process for phase 2 started at 7 A.M., there was a short introduction to how to solve the Case study for 15-20 minutes. Phase 2 was divided into 3 rounds which were:- Case Study (60 minutes): The window was open for 90 minutes i.e from 7:30-9:00 A.M. We had to upload our resumes before starting the Case Study. We were given a case study of 15-20 pages which had a total of 6 questions. For the first two questions, we had to write what all data was required to form the table which was given and we had to write Data Flow Diagram/Algorithm/SQL Queries for the steps and mathematical calculations to form the table (includes joins). For the next two questions, we had to find the data quality issues (There were many which were not noticeable so please look at the tables carefully) and we had to suggest improvements for the Layout. The next two questions were also similar. Tip: Try to go through the entire case study once, keep points in your mind even if you are not able to write it down. Technical Interview + Case Study Debrief(60 minutes): Introduction Why ZS? Why Consultancy? How can you contribute to ZS? What was the level of the case study? Did you manage to complete the entire case study? Assume that I have never gone through your solutions, can you please explain what was it all about? Discussion about the entire case study, very tricky part and she tried to confuse me a lot, the interviewer wants to know how well you have understood the case study and how can you apply DBMS concepts on it. (Be confident on whatever you say) An in-depth discussion about DBMS Concepts with its use in the case study. Discussion on sorting techniques (Merge sort and Quick Sort) She asked me to describe my campus while describing I had mentioned about our college canteen, from which she asked me my favourite food, and how many units of it are sold in your college in a week. 4 students were selected for the

About Zs Associates Interview Reports

This question was reported by a candidate who interviewed at Zs Associates. LeakCode aggregates interview reports from 10+ sources, including 1Point3Acres, Glassdoor, LeetCode Discuss, Blind, Reddit, Indeed, and Nowcoder. Each report is translated where necessary, deduplicated against existing entries, and tagged by company, role, round type, and reporting date.

Use this question as one calibration data point, not a memorization target. Companies typically rotate their question pools every 2-4 months; the exact wording of a 2024 question may differ from what you encounter today. The underlying pattern, difficulty level, and follow-up depth at Zs Associates are the higher-signal extractions to take from this report.

For broader preparation context, the Zs Associates interview process typically includes a recruiter screen, one or two technical phone screens, and a 4-5 round on-site loop covering coding, system design (at L4+ levels), and behavioral. Reports tagged on LeakCode show the round-by-round distribution and typical difficulty calibration. To browse questions filtered by round type and seniority, use the company hub linked above.

How To Practice This Type of Question

Solve similar problems on LeetCode under timed conditions (25-35 minutes per medium difficulty). The goal is pattern recognition: recognize the underlying technique (sliding window, two-pointer, BFS, memoized recursion, etc.) within 60-90 seconds of reading. Strong candidates verbalize their hypothesis out loud before coding, then iterate based on feedback. Weak candidates dive into implementation immediately, lose time on the wrong approach, and run out of time for follow-ups.

Companies update their question pools every 2-4 months. The exact wording of any given question may have been retired by the time you interview. Focus your prep on the pattern, not the specific problem. The patterns that appear in Zs Associates reports consistently are the ones worth investing in; one-off niche problems are not.

During Your Zs Associates Round

Apply the standard interview round template: clarify requirements (2-3 minutes), state your approach out loud and confirm direction with the interviewer (3-5 minutes), code with narration (15-25 minutes), test with concrete examples including edge cases (5 minutes), discuss optimization or trade-offs if time permits (5 minutes). This template is universally accepted across FAANG and adjacent companies; deviating from it produces weaker interviewer feedback signal.

The single most predictive failure mode in Zs Associates reports tagged "no hire": not asking clarifying questions. Interviewers are explicitly trained to weight this. Strong candidates ask 3-5 clarifying questions even on problems that look obvious; weak candidates dive into code immediately. The clarifying-question check is often the first signal recorded in the interviewer's written notes.
